Pixel Praying Boy & Girl

Welcome to my "Praying Boy and Girl" pixel tut
This Tutorial is for my tester and friend Jaccie

I put everything on it's own layer so you can go back and change colors or what ever

I zoom by 5, 2 times

start by opening the Praying Girl canvas's in the zip
on it you will find all the layers and the color pallet

the way we will be doing this is to click on one of the outline layers that I have made
and load the selection from alpha channel
then click inside with your magic wand and flood fill
invert the selection and apply the following drop shadow


it will always be the same unless I tell u to change the blur
the shadow color will be the outline color
please feel free to do this any way you are most comfortable doing it

don't forget to save your work
OK let's get going
We'll start with the Praying Girl
open the Praying Girl Canvas

click on layer 01 nighty outline
load selection from alpha channel
using your spray can fill in all the selections
using color # 3

this is the setting I use


but please feel free to change it so it's comfortable for you
now click inside all the parts of the nighty with magic wand

************NOTE************
when you click inside an image with the magic wand, hold down the shift key to select multiple areas
use settings as follows



click on layer nighty Fill with color #4
selections select all
selections float
selection invert
apply drop shadow if you wish
shadow color is #3
deselect
turn OFF all layers but these 2 merge these 2 layers visible rename nighty
turn on your color pallet layer
don't forget to save your work


click on layer 03 skin outline
load selection from alpha
fill with color # 5

click inside the selections with magic wand
click on skin color layer
fill with color # 6
selections select all
selections float
selection invert
apply drop shadow if you wish
shadow color is # 5
change blur to 5
deselect
turn OFF all layers but these 2 merge these 2 layers visible rename skin
turn on your color pallet layer
don't forget to save your work

click on layer 05 facial features
load selection from alpha channel
fill with color # 5


click on layer 06 bear outline
load selection from alpha channel
fill with color # 1

click inside the bear parts
click on bear color layer
fill with color # 2
selections select all
selections float
selection invert
apply drop shadow if you wish
shadow color is # 1
blur 5
deselect
don't forget to save your work


click on layer 08 bear face
load from alpha channel
fill with black

click on layer 09 bear nose
fill with black
turn OFF all layers but these 4 layers and rename bear
turn on your color pallet layer

don't forget to save your work

click on layer 10 hair outline
load selection from alpha channel
fill with color # 7

click inside all the hair sections
click on hair color layer
fill with color # 8
selections select all
selections float
selection invert
apply drop shadow if you wish
shadow color is # 7
blur 5
deselect
turn OFF all layers but these 2 merge these 2 layers visible rename hair
turn on your color pallet layer
don't forget to save your work


click on 12 bow outline
load selection from alpha channel
fill with color #4

click inside all bow parts
click on bow color layer
fill with color # 3
selections select all
selections float
selection invert
apply drop shadow if you wish
shadow color is #4
blur 5
deselect
turn OFF all layers but these 2 and rename bow
turn on your color pallet layer
don't forget to save your work


merger these layers visible and save

close out of this one


Praying Boy

open the Praying Boy canvas
and praying boy color chart

click on 01 jammies outline layer
load selection from alpha channel
fill with color # 1

click inside sections of the jammies
click on layer 02 jammie color
fill with color # 2
selections select all
selections float
selection invert
apply drop shadow if you wish
shadow color is #1
blur 10
deselect
turn OFF all layers but these 2 merge these 2 layers visible rename jammies



don't forget to save your work


click on layer 03 skin outline
load selection from alpha channel
fill with color # 3

click inside skin selections
don't forget his foot
click n layer 04 skin color
fill with color # 4
selections select all
selections float
selection invert
apply drop shadow if you wish
shadow color is # 3
blur 5
deselect
turn OFF all layers but these 2 merge these 2 layers visible rename skin



don't forget to save your work


click on layer 05 facial features
load selection from alpha channel
fill with color # 3

now zoom in by 5 and paint the mouth with color # 9
use paint brush with following setting



click on layer 06 bear outline
load selection from alpha channel
fill with color # 5

click inside bear sections
click on 07 bear color layer
fill with color # 6
selections select all
selections float
selection invert
apply drop shadow if you wish
shadow color is # 5
blur 5
deselect
click on layer 08 bear nose _ eyes
load from alpha channel
fill with color # 5

turn OFF all layers but these 3 merge these 3 layers visible rename bear
don't forget to save your work



click on layer 09 hair outline
load from alpha channel
fill with color # 7
click inside sections of the hair
click on layer 10 hair color
fill with color # 8

selections select all
selections float
selection invert
apply drop shadow if you wish
shadow color is # 7
blur 5
deselect
turn OFF all layers but these 2 merge these 2 layers visible rename hair
don't forget to save your work
