Pixel Lil Girl and Boy
For this tut you will need

Welcome to my "Lil Girl and Boy" pixel tut
I will try to explain this as easy as I know how..............lol
IF that's possible
I put everything on it's own layer so you can go back and change colors or what ever
I zoom by 1, 3 times
start by opening the canvas in the zip
on it you will find all the layers plus the color pallet
have your layer pallet open
the way we will be doing this is to click on one of the outline layers that I have made
load the selection from ALPHA CHANNEL
then fill the outline with the color
then click inside all parts of the outline with your magic wand
then click on color layer
and fill with color
selection select all
selection float
selection invert
then apply the following drop shadow
it will always be the same unless I tell u to change the blur
the shadow color will be the outline color
please feel free to do this any way you are most comfortable doing it
open the Working lil Boy Canvas that is in the zip
have your layer pallet open
use your airbrush
use settings in image below
don't forget to save your work
OK let's get going
click on 01 shoe sole outline layer
load selection from alpha channel
fill using color # 1
Now click inside the shoe sole outline
highlight shoe sole color layer
************NOTE************
when you click inside an image with the magic wand, hold down the shift key to select multiple areas
use settings as follows
and fill with color # 2
selections select all
selection float
selection invert
apply the drop shadow if you wish
shadow color #1
turn OFF all layers but these 2
click back on shoe sole outline layer
merge these 2 layers together
rename shoe sole
turn color pallet layer back on
don't forget to save your work
click on 02 shoe outline layer
load selection from alpha channel
fill using color # 3
Now click inside the outlines
highlight shoe color layer
and fill with color # 3
selections select all
selection float
selection invert
apply the drop shadow if you wish
shadow color #1
turn OFF all layers but these 2
click back on shoe outline layer
merge these 2 layers together
rename shoe
turn color pallet layer back on
don't forget to save your work
click on 03 spinner outline layer
load selection from alpha channel
fill using color # 3
Now click inside the outlines
highlight spinner color layer
and fill with color # 4
selections select all
selection float
selection invert
apply the drop shadow if you wish
color #4
turn OFF all layers but these 2
click back on shoe outline layer
merge these 2 layers together
rename spinner
turn color pallet layer back on
don't forget to save your work
click on 04 hat button outline layer
load selection from alpha channel
fill using color # 3
Now click inside the outlines
highlight button color layer
and fill with color # 4
selections select all
selection float
selection invert
apply the drop shadow
color #4
turn OFF all layers but these 2
click back on button outline layer
merge these 2 layers together
rename hat button
turn color pallet layer back on
don't forget to save your work
click on 05 hair outline layer
load selection from alpha channel
fill using color # 5
Now click inside the outlines
highlight hair color layer
and fill with color # 6
selections select all
selection float
selection invert
apply the drop shadow
color #4
turn OFF all layers but these 2
click back on hair outline layer
merge these 2 layers together
rename hair
turn color pallet layer back on
don't forget to save your work
click on 06 collar outline layer
load selection from alpha channel
fill using color # 11
Now click inside the outlines
highlight collar color layer
and fill with color # 12
selections select all
selection float
selection invert
apply the drop shadow
color #11
change blur to 3
turn OFF all layers but these 2
click back on collar outline layer
merge these 2 layers together
rename collar
turn color pallet layer back on
don't forget to save your work
click on 07 pant outline layer
load selection from alpha channel
fill using color # 1
Now click inside the outlines
highlight pant color layer
and fill with color # 2
selections select all
selection float
selection invert
apply the drop shadow
color # 1
change blur back to 10
turn OFF all layers but these 2
click back on pant outline layer
merge these 2 layers together
rename pants
turn color pallet layer back on
don't forget to save your work
click on 08 pant button outline layer
load selection from alpha channel
fill using color # 3
Now click inside the outlines
highlight pant button color layer
and fill with color # 4
selections select all
selection float
selection invert
apply the drop shadow color # 3
change blur back to 3
turn OFF all layers but these 2
click back on pant button outline layer
merge these 2 layers together
rename pant button
turn color pallet layer back on
don't forget to save your work
click on 09 shirt outline layer
load selection from alpha channel
fill using color # 9
Now click inside the outlines
highlight shirt color layer
and fill with color # 10
selections select all
selection float
selection invert
apply the drop shadow color # 9
change blur back to 10
turn OFF all layers but these 2
click back on shirt outlinelayer
merge these 2 layers together
rename shirt
turn color pallet layer back on
don't forget to save your work
click on 10 skin outline layer
load selection from alpha channel
fill using color # 7
Now click inside the outlines
highlight skin color layer
and fill with color # 8
selections select all
selection float
selection invert
apply the drop shadow color # 7
change blur back to 10
turn OFF all layers but these 2
click back on skin color outlinelayer
merge these 2 layers together
rename skin
turn color pallet layer back on
don't forget to save your work
click on 11 hat outline layer
load selection from alpha channel
fill using color # 1
Now click inside the outlines
highlight hat color layer
and fill with color # 2
selections select all
selection float
selection invert
apply the drop shadow color # 1
change blur back to 10
turn OFF all layers but these 2
click back on pant button outline layer
merge these 2 layers together
rename hat
turn color pallet layer back on
don't forget to save your work
click on 12 eyes black layer
load selection from alpha channel
fill using black
don't forget to save your work
click on 13 eye white layer
load selection from alpha channel
fill using white
don't forget to save your work
lick on 14 mouth layer
load selection from alpha channel
fill using color # 9
click on 15 freckles layer
load selection from alpha channel
fill using color # 7
don't forget to save your work
click on 16 eyebrows layer
load selection from alpha channel
fill using color # 7
turn OFF all layers but these 3
click back on freckleslayer
merge these 3 layers together
rename facial features
now you can delete the color pallet layer
layers merge visible and save in PSP format for later use
OK lets get started on the girl
open the girl canvas that is in the zip
click on 01 shoe outline layer
load selection from alpha channel
fill using color # 3
Now click inside the outlines
highlight shoe color layer
and fill with color # 3
selections select all
selection float
selection invert
apply the drop shadow if you wish
color # 4
turn OFF all layers but these 2
click back on shoe outline layer
merge these 2 layers together
rename shoe
turn color pallet layer back on
don't forget to save your work
click on 02 skin outline layer
load selection from alpha channel
fill using color # 1
Now click inside the outlines
highlight skin color layer
and fill with color # 2
selections select all
selection float
selection invert
apply the drop shadow if you wish
color # 1
turn OFF all layers but these 2
click back on skin outline layer
merge these 2 layers together
rename skin
turn color pallet layer back on
don't forget to save your work
click on 03 mouth layer
load selection from alpha channel
fill using color # 9
don't forget to save your work
click on 04 eyes black layer
load selection from alpha channel
fill using black
don't forget to save your work
click on 05 eyes white layer
load selection from alpha channel
fill using white
turn OFF all layers but these 5 layers
click back on skin outline layer
merge these 5 layers together
rename face
turn color pallet layer back on
don't forget to save your work
click on 06 dress outline layer
load selection from alpha channel
fill using color # 3
Now click inside the outlines
highlight dress color layer
and fill with color # 4
selections select all
selection float
selection invert
apply the drop shadow if you wish
color # 3
turn OFF all layers but these 2
click back on dress outline layer
merge these 2 layers together
rename dress
turn color pallet layer back on
don't forget to save your work
click on 07 collar_ruffel outline layer
load selection from alpha channel
fill using color # 5
Now click inside the outlines
highlight collar_ruffel color layer
and fill with color # 6
selections select all
selection float
selection invert
apply the drop shadow if you wish
change blur to 3
color # 5
turn OFF all layers but these 2
click back on collar_ruffel outline layer
merge these 2 layers together
rename collar_ruffel
turn color pallet layer back on
don't forget to save your work
click on 08 hair outline layer
load selection from alpha channel
fill using color # 7
Now click inside the outlines
highlight hair color layer
and fill with color # 8
selections select all
selection float
selection invert
apply the drop shadow if you wish
color # 7
change blur back to 10
turn OFF all layers but these 2
click back on hair outline layer
merge these 2 layers together
rename hair
turn color pallet layer back on
don't forget to save your work
click on 09 hair tie outline layer
load selection from alpha channel
fill using color # 3
Now click inside the outlines
highlight hair tie color layer
and fill with color # 4
selections select all
selection float
selection invert
apply the drop shadow if you wish
color # 3
turn OFF all layers but these 2
click back on hair tie outline layer
merge these 2 layers together
rename hair tie
turn all layers back on
you can delete color pallet layer
save in PSP format for later use
